Global health service, research, and education
Facilitating connections to improve health and health equity across our global health community
Across the globe, the Global Health Program at the David Geffen School of Medicine (DGSOM) works with academic institutions, hospitals, health clinics, government agencies, and non-profit organizations. While each country collaboration is unique, they are all founded in our prioritization of partnership as a model for responsible and sustainable work in medical education, capacity building, health service delivery, and research. We believe that the strongest global health partnerships are those that strive for equity, and are committed to working with our international colleagues to ensure that our programs are balanced and mutually beneficial.
The Global Health Program connects DGSOM faculty with others at UCLA, across our Los Angeles community, and at our global partner sites to facilitate new collaborations. To raise awareness of activities, we also assist in disseminating information about global health projects through our monthly newsletter and global projects map.
Additional resources and opportunities to help faculty advance global health work include our Travel Grant Program, a Global Health Seed Grant Program, and a Mentor Award Program to contribute to supporting medical student projects for those faculty who mentor students in the DGSOM Global Health Equity Pathway.
