Rafael Suarez has over 25 years experience as a corporate strategy advisor with a specialization in highly competitive industries.   He served 15 years with Monitor Group (acquired by Deloitte in 2013) in the capacity of subject matter expert on nearly 100 client engagements for Fortune 50 and Fortune 500 clients. 

In addition to competitive strategy, Mr. Suarez’s tenure at Monitor included work in national security, executive development and leadership development.  His clients included Coca-Cola, Clorox, Amgen, Northrop Grumman, Baxter Health, Raytheon, the US Air Force, and US intelligence agencies among others.

Mr. Suarez is an experienced facilitator for senior workshops, in-residence change management efforts and often takes a hands-on role in executing client strategy in collaboration with C-suite leadership.    

Prior to consulting, Mr. Suarez was in asset management for over a decade, with a focus on emerging markets, company valuation and portfolio management, largely in the Middle East and Latin America.

He is author /co-author of 10 custom business cases for Harvard Business School and Monitor Executive Development on strategy, leadership and execution and scenario planning.   

He was most recently Executive Director of the Drucker School of Management in Claremont, CA, overseeing both the Corporate Strategy and Executive Education practices. 

Mr. Suarez holds an MBA from Harvard and bachelors with honors from Brown University in International Relations. He is fluent in business Spanish.
